Windows 10: Everything You Would Want To Know About The Taskbar Part 2

Part 2

The taskbar settings pan has a few repeated settings but also has some settings you will not see on the taskbar. Let’s take a look.

We have:

Lock the taskbar: locks the taskbar so it can’t be moved.

Automatically hide the taskbar in desktop mode: This will hide your taskbar when you’re on your desktop.

Use Small Taskbar buttons: This will make your taskbar buttons small, giving you more space.

Use Peek to preview the desktop when you move your mouse to the Show desktop button at the end of the taskbar: There is a little line at the far right of the taskbar, if hover over it, it will hide what is open so you can see your desktop.

Replace Command Prompt with Windows Powershell in the menu when I right-click the start button or press Windows key+x: If you right-click the start menu button, you will have the option to use Powershell, this is a more advanced feature of windows, for scripting.

Show badges on taskbar buttons: this will add little notifications to your taskbar buttons when something is updated in that application.

Taskbar location on screen: This will also allow you to choose where you want the taskbar to show on your screen
.
How do I customize taskbars? : this will bring you to a help page made by Microsoft.

Select which icons appear on the taskbar: This is another way to add applications to the taskbar.

Turn system icons on or off: this will allow you to customize what shows in your system tray.

Show taskbar on all displays: If you have multiple monitors, it will show the taskbar on every display.

Combine buttons on other taskbars: if you have multiple instances of one application open, you can decide how it shows on the taskbar.

Show contacts on the taskbar: this shows the people app on the taskbar and opens more settings for this application.

This about sums up everything you would want to know about the taskbar.

So go ahead and open up the themes section of your settings and you should see the mouse point options as pictured below: You will be prompted with a new window like below: You will have multiple sections to this window much like the sound customizations. You have at the top schemes. This is a drop list of all the prebuilt schemes that windows have prebuilt. You can go through each scheme and you will have multiple options for different mouse selections. So if you go through the schemes, some will make your default mouse point black and large, some of them will make your pointer white and large. Try them out by selecting the scheme and selecting apply to see how it l
