Windows 10 Screen Saver

If you’re here, chances are you’re looking into how to set up a screen saver in Windows 10.

Yes, the option to use a screen saver is still available in Windows 10. Although, it may not be necessary as most modern monitors don’t suffer from burn-in the old CRT monitors had problems with.

But if you like screen savers, you can always enable it. Let’s get started.

First, open settings as pictured below:

Windows 10 Settings

Then you in the search bar, type screen saver and you will have two options here. Either one will open the same window we are looking for.

Windows 10 Settings Search

The default option is set to none. But you have a list of options you can choose from in the drown down menu:

Windows 10 Screen Saver Settings

If you select one of the options it will give you a preview on the top as pictured below:

Windows 10 Screen Saver Preview

On the right of the dropdown menu, you have the option to preview the screen saver in action to see what it looks like. Just click the preview button.

Some screen savers will give you additional options such as photos, and 3D Text. To change the options, select it in the drop-down menu and click settings, like below:

You will be presented with a new window of options to customize your screen saver a bit more setting you can customize for your screen saver. Play with the settings to your liking from there.

Then the final settings you have are on the bottom of the window and that is to change your power settings. But this could be an article of its own. So we will not go into detail about these settings.

Although there are not many choices for a screen saver. The option is there if you would like to use one, even though, nowadays you don’t need to use it in the first place.
